Suisui review
Review updated:
Suisui is a 5-Star Glacio Rectifier support and healer built around Glacio Chafe, Negative Status amplification, and team-wide buffs that scale with her Energy Regen. Her personal damage is a small part of her value — in the tested Team DPS rotations she accounts for roughly 2.3–3.6% of her team's total damage. Her real output is what she gives the team: the Ceaseless Landscape zone, a 25% All DMG Amplification Outro, higher Negative Status stack ceilings, healing, and interruption resistance.
The live Team DPS section is the authority for Suisui's current tested compositions, ordering, DPS values, and rotations. It updates from the validated Team DPS projection instead of freezing those values in this review.
Quick Verdict
Pull Suisui if you play, or plan to play, an ATK-scaling Negative Status DPS who can consume stacks — Xuanling and Hiyuki are the current examples. She is a specialist support, not a universal one: her defining buffs are ATK-based, and her full package needs a carry who consumes Negative Status stacks. Supports like this still age well, because they make the characters you already like stronger.
Suisui is not team-dependent — your ATK-scaling Negative Status DPS is Suisui-dependent. She asks for no field time, no expensive weapon, and no sequences. But she is not the right support for every Negative Status team: Cartethyia scales with HP, not ATK, so Suisui's ATK package does almost nothing for her — even with S1. More on this in Team Fit & Account Value.
At S0, Suisui is already a complete support. She does not need sequences to function. For low spenders, S0 is enough. If you want vertical investment, S2 is the first realistic stopping point because it is a team-wide damage spike. S6 is a whale ceiling that turns her Intro and Awakening Spring hits into real personal damage, but it is not needed for her support role.
How Suisui Works
Suisui is a stance-switching Glacio support. Her kit moves between Zephyr Stance and Drizzle Stance, and each stance has its own resource.
In Zephyr Stance (her default form), her Basic Attacks, Skill, and successful dodges build a gauge called Cloud Breath (max 120 points). When the gauge is full, her Skill becomes Awakening Spring: it spends all 120 points, pulls in nearby enemies, inflicts Glacio Chafe, and switches her into Drizzle Stance. Her Intro, Tinkling Jade, does the same job — it also spends all Cloud Breath to pull enemies in and enter Drizzle Stance.
In Drizzle Stance (15 seconds), she is harder to interrupt, her Basic Attacks change into a new set that pulls enemies in and inflicts Glacio Chafe, and her hits build a second gauge, Floral Epistle (max 600 points). Floral Epistle is the resource her Outro scales from — the more she has stored, the stronger her Outro becomes.
Her Liberation, Song of Thoroughfare, deploys a zone called Ceaseless Landscape for 30 seconds. Put simply: while the zone is up, your team can push more Negative Status stacks onto enemies, and Havoc Bane users cut through part of the enemy's defenses. The exact effects:
- Inflicting Spectro Frazzle, Fusion Burst, Glacio Chafe, or Aero Erosion (or dealing that Negative Status damage) raises the target's max Negative Status stack limit by 3 for 15 seconds.
- Inflicting Electro Flare raises the max stack limits of Electro Flare and Electro Rage by 3 for 15 seconds.
- Consuming Havoc Bane stacks after landing a skill lets that Resonator's Havoc damage ignore 6% DEF and 12% Havoc RES for 30 seconds.
The Havoc Bane package is currently Xuanling's package, and it has one real failure point. Xuanling is the only character who consumes Havoc Bane, and she does it with her Forte Skill. The important detail is the order of events: the Forte Skill has to hit the target for the Havoc Bane consumption to happen at all. If Xuanling misses her Forte Skill — the boss dashes away, jumps, or leaves the hitbox before it connects — no Havoc Bane is consumed, and she gains neither the 6% DEF ignore nor the 12% Havoc RES ignore. So a missed Forte Skill costs twice: Xuanling loses her own Havoc Bane damage window, and Suisui's ignore package never activates. The 30-second duration is generous once it lands, but landing the hit is the condition, so treat Forte Skill accuracy as part of the rotation, not an afterthought.
Her Outro, Rippling Waters, gives the team 25% All DMG Amplification for 30 seconds, exits Drizzle Stance, and consumes all Floral Epistle. The more Epistle consumed, the more the Outro does:
- 0+: the team gains Reflecting Shadows (interruption resistance) for 6 seconds.
- 200+: the first Plume Step becomes available during Roaming Transcendent (her off-field dance, explained below).
- 400+: if the active character is inside the Ceaseless Landscape and has Reflecting Shadows, they deal more DMG — +0.2% for every 1% of Suisui's Energy Regen above 200%, up to +12%.
- 600+: when Suisui performs the first Plume Step (which happens 6 seconds after her Outro), the next Resonator inside the Ceaseless Landscape gains a 24-second effect: if that Resonator casts their Outro Skill during the window, the character who swaps in next gains Undulating Mist. A Resonator with Undulating Mist who consumes Negative Status or Electro Rage stacks gains an ATK increase — 0.1% per 0.12% of Suisui's Energy Regen over 200%, up to 50%.
Undulating Mist reaches the carry through the previous character's Outro — not automatically. In a normal rotation it works like this: Suisui casts Outro → 6 seconds later the first Plume Step gives the next character the 24-second window → that character casts their own Outro → the character who swaps in after them receives Undulating Mist. The buff belongs to one character at a time: it lasts 14 seconds, or until that character swaps off the field, and if Undulating Mist is removed, the ATK increase is removed with it. So the rotation has to respect the Plume Step timing and the swap order, or the ATK buff never reaches the character who needs it.
After the Outro, Suisui enters Roaming Transcendent: she merges with the Ceaseless Landscape and performs an off-field dance. Each Plume Step heals the active Resonator, refreshes Reflecting Shadows, and inflicts a Glacio Chafe stack on every enemy in the landscape. This is why she needs so little field time — most of her sustained value happens while your DPS is on the field.
Her healing comes from several layers:
- Enrichment: the team gains it when Suisui casts Awakening Spring or her Intro (once every 25 seconds), and it heals the character who swaps in.
- Spring's Birth: when a character uses up Enrichment, they receive a heal-over-time that scales with Suisui's Max HP.
- Plume Steps: each one heals the active character during Roaming Transcendent.
- Glimmering Gold (her second Inherent Skill): once every 10 minutes, a teammate who would take a fatal hit survives, at the cost of Suisui's own current HP.
Standard tested rotation, first rotation:
Basic 1, 2, 3 > Awakening Spring (Forte Skill) > Basic 1, 2, 3, 4 > Echo > Liberation > Outro
Second rotation onward:
Intro > Skill > Basic 1, 2, 3, 4 > Echo > Liberation > Outro
The rotation is simple by design: enter, fill the gauge, convert it through Awakening Spring or the Intro, deploy the landscape, and leave. Her field time is short, and most of what she contributes keeps working after she swaps out.
Energy Regen is her real stat breakpoint, not a comfort stat. Both of her Outro's scaling buffs only count Energy Regen above 200%, and both reach their caps exactly 60 points later — the DMG buff (+0.2% per 1% above 200%, capped at +12%) and the Undulating Mist ATK buff (+0.1% per 0.12% above 200%, capped at +50%). That is why her build target is 260% Energy Regen: at 260%, both buffs are maxed, and anything beyond it does nothing for them.
Build Priorities
Do not build or judge Suisui like a damage dealer. Her tested share of team damage is roughly 2.3–3.6%. Her damage is a bonus; her buffs, healing, and stack ceilings are the product.
- Sub-stat priority: HP%, Energy Regen, Resonance Skill DMG.
- Talent priority: Resonance Skill Lv. 10, Resonance Liberation Lv. 10, Intro Skill Lv. 10, Forte Circuit Lv. 8, Normal Attack Lv. 6.
Build targets:
Her Echo set is Song of Feathered Trace, with Forbidden Bastion as the main Echo. The 5-piece effect fits her exactly: when she inflicts Glacio Chafe, the team gains Chongming's Feather — +0.1% ATK for every 1% of Suisui's Energy Regen, up to +25%. That is one more buff her 260% ER target covers.
Main stats are Crit DMG or HP on Cost 4, Energy Regen on both Cost 3 slots, and HP on both Cost 1 slots. The tested Cost 4 comparison with Firstlight's Herald is a real choice between damage and healing:
- Crit DMG Cost 4: 28,948 damage (100%), 17,103 healing (82.44%)
- HP Cost 4: 27,121 damage (93.69%), 18,945 healing (91.32%)
- Healing Bonus Cost 4: 24,132 damage (83.36%), 20,745 healing (100%)
Crit DMG is the general recommendation because her healing is already more than enough for current content, and the extra damage is the only thing that still grows. If you want maximum sustain instead, Healing Bonus is a fair trade — you lose personal damage that barely matters in exchange for the strongest healing option.
For weapons, the tested baseline is Firstlight's Herald at R1. The important test result is that the (No Weapon) teams, where Suisui uses Variation at R1, still stand with the strongest tested teams in the projection — check the live Team DPS section for the current values. You do not need her weapon for her to do her job. Pull the weapon only if you want her personal numbers, not because the team needs it.
Team Fit & Account Value
Suisui's account value is as high as a support's value can be. She is the tested best teammate for the current Negative Status cores — Xuanling, Hiyuki, Chisa, and Lucilla are her listed synergies, and the live Team DPS cards show it.
Use the live Team DPS section for the current tested compositions, ordering, DPS values, equipment, and rotations. Those cards update from the validated Team DPS projection and are the only source for mutable team results on this page.
One tested detail worth knowing: in Hiyuki teams, Suisui's presence changes Hiyuki's build. Without Suisui, Hiyuki is calculated with 1 ATK Cost 3 echo and 1 Glacio Cost 3 echo; with Suisui in the team, Hiyuki moves to 2 Glacio Cost 3 echoes, because Suisui's ATK buffs already cover the ATK side.
For Xuanling, the pairing is even tighter. She is currently the only character who consumes Havoc Bane, which makes her the only character who can activate Ceaseless Landscape's 6% DEF ignore and 12% Havoc RES ignore. Just keep the condition from How Suisui Works in mind: those buffs only trigger when her Forte Skill actually hits the target.
Her limits are just as clear, and they sit inside Negative Status teams, not outside them. Suisui's two biggest buffs are ATK-based — Undulating Mist's up-to-50% ATK and the echo set's up-to-25% ATK — so her ideal carry has to do two things: scale with ATK and consume Negative Status stacks. Cartethyia fails the first condition: she deals damage with HP, so Suisui's ATK package is wasted on her even when the buff triggers, and S1 does not change that. Zani fails the second condition at S0: she inflicts Spectro Frazzle but does not consume stacks, so Undulating Mist never activates for her until S1 (see Sequence Value). Outside Negative Status teams entirely, only her generic layers remain — the 25% All DMG Amplification, the up-to-12% DMG buff, healing, and Reflecting Shadows. That is the honest reason her general-teams rating is lower than her best-teams rating.
Opportunity cost is also on her side. Because she asks for so little field time and works with Variation, adding Suisui rarely costs you anything elsewhere in the account — she does not steal a weapon, a long rotation window, or a sequence budget.
Sequence Value
Suisui is complete at S0. Her base kit already gives her both stances, Ceaseless Landscape, the full Floral Epistle Outro tiers, Roaming Transcendent, and her entire healing package.
- S1 — Mountains Washed Into Paintings (4/5): Buff reach and comfort. Undulating Mist's ATK increase also triggers when a Resonator inflicts a Negative Status or deals Negative Status damage, not only when consuming stacks. This is the node that makes Suisui work with characters like Zani: Zani inflicts Spectro Frazzle but does not consume stacks, so at S0 the Undulating Mist ATK buff never triggers for her — at S1, inflicting the status is enough. Keep in mind that S1 fixes the trigger condition, not the stat: it still does nothing for HP-scaling characters like Cartethyia, because the buff itself is ATK. The third Plume Step's Reflecting Shadows also lasts 100% longer, and her Drizzle Stance moves gain interruption immunity. Real value, but not required for Xuanling or Hiyuki teams.
- S2 — Clouds Pour Like Molten Gold (5/5): The first major stopping point. Team Resonators in Ceaseless Landscape gain 50% Crit DMG for 30 seconds after inflicting a Negative Status or consuming Havoc Bane stacks. This is a team-wide damage spike on top of everything she already gives, and it is her strongest sequence.
- S3 — Sparse Curtains Invite Evening Glow (4/5): Rotation smoothness. Her Drizzle Skill grants Kingfisher: after casting the Skill, her next Normal Attack jumps straight into Drizzle Basic Stage 4, and that Stage 4 consumes Kingfisher to restore 20 Concerto Energy and 350 Floral Epistle (once every 25 seconds). This makes her loop faster and her Outro tiers easier to reach, but her S0 rotation already works.
- S4 — Autumn Mountains in Choir Sing (2/5): Healing luxury. Enrichment and Spring's Birth healing increased by 50%. Her healing is already sufficient at S0.
- S5 — I Long To Ride The Eastern Wind (2/5): Personal damage luxury. Drizzle Basic and Drizzle Heavy multipliers increased by 100%. Her personal damage is not why she is on the team.
- S6 — Staying True To This Splendid Realm (5/5): Her whale ceiling. Tinkling Jade and Awakening Spring gain 500% Crit DMG. Remember that these two hits also carry +80% Crit Rate and +240% Glacio DMG from her Inherent Skill — S6 turns them into real nukes. Fun and strong, but it changes her damage, not her support value, so it is not needed for normal players.
Pull Value
Pull Suisui if:
- You play or plan to pull an ATK-scaling Negative Status DPS who consumes stacks — Xuanling and Hiyuki are her best tested partners.
- You want one support who covers buffing, healing, interruption resistance, and stack ceilings in a single slot.
- You want the current top Team DPS cores — see the live Team DPS section for where her teams stand.
- You want a support who is complete at S0 and performs at the top with Variation R1.
- You prefer low-field-time supports whose value keeps working after they swap out.
Skip or delay Suisui if:
- Your Negative Status carry is Cartethyia — she scales with HP, so Suisui's ATK-based buffs do little for her, with or without S1.
- Your Negative Status carry only inflicts stacks without consuming them (like Zani) and you are staying at S0 — the Undulating Mist ATK buff needs S1 to trigger for her.
- Your account has no Negative Status DPS and you do not plan to pull one — her ceiling is tied to those teams.
- You already clear everything comfortably and a new main DPS would change your account more than another support.
- You dislike stance-switching kits with resource gauges, even simple ones.
