Jinhsi review

Review updated:

Jinhsi is a 5-Star Spectro Broadblade main DPS who has been with the game since Version 1.1. Her kit is built around the Incarnation state and one big hit, Illuminous Epiphany, a Resonance Skill nuke empowered by the Incandescence gauge her teammates fill for her. Her damage profile is narrow: Resonance Skill 68.12%, Resonance Liberation 24.47%, with Echo and Intro hits making up the rest. In her tested teams she is the carry, dealing roughly 80% of the team's damage.

The live Team DPS section is the authority for Jinhsi's current tested compositions, ordering, DPS values, and rotations. It updates from the validated Team DPS projection instead of freezing those values in this review.

Quick Verdict

Jinhsi is a complete, functional main DPS: at S0 her full Incarnation loop, the nuke, and her Unison trick all work without sequences, and her partners are easy to understand. The pulling advice, however, is simple: she is not worth pulling right now. She is one of the oldest limited carries in the game, and her best tested teams sit at the bottom of the validated projection — the same investment goes further on a newer damage dealer. The rest of this review is for owners and returning players who want to build and play her correctly.

Best teams2/10 — her tested structures sit at the bottom of the validated projection
General teams2/10 — a pure carry with fixed partner requirements and no off-field or support value
F2P valueComplete at S0, but skip — the cost is better spent on a newer carry
Whale valueLow — her personal chart tops out at 227% at S6

How Jinhsi Works

Jinhsi plays in two phases per field stay: entering Incarnation, then cashing the gauge into Illuminous Epiphany.

Entering Incarnation. After her Basic Attack Stage 4 or her Intro, her Resonance Skill becomes Overflowing Radiance for 5 seconds. Casting it sends her into Incarnation: her Basic Attacks become a mid-air 4-stage chain counted as Resonance Skill damage, and she gains an alternative Skill, Crescent Divinity, and mid-air mobility.

The nuke. After Stage 4 of the Incarnation Basic chain, Incarnation ends and she gains Ordination Glow: her Resonance Skill becomes Illuminous Epiphany, the hit the whole kit is built around. It consumes up to 50 Incandescence, and each point adds bonus DMG Multiplier to the detonation. A full-gauge Epiphany is her real damage; a half-filled one is noticeably weaker.

Incandescence — the mechanic that chooses her teammates. While Jinhsi is in the party, everyone gains Eras in Unity: Jinhsi gets 1 Incandescence whenever a party member inflicts Attribute DMG, with each attribute on its own 3-second timer, and 2 Incandescence when a party member lands a Coordinated Attack, on the same per-attribute timer. Different attributes feed the gauge in parallel, and off-field Coordinated Attacks feed it twice as fast as normal hits. This is why her partners are who they are.

Her Outro buffs herself, not the next character. Temporal Bender makes Eras in Unity grant Incandescence from same-attribute damage once per 1 second instead of 3, for 20 seconds. It accelerates her next rotation's gauge. She hands the incoming Resonator no damage buff at all.

Unison — her signature trick. After casting Illuminous Epiphany, Jinhsi gains Unison, triggerable once every 25 seconds. Swapping out with Unison consumes it to fire her Outro and the incoming Resonator's Intro without needing full Concerto Energy. This is how the tested rotation takes the field twice per cycle: two Intros, two nukes, one Liberation, once through Unison and once through normal Concerto.

Tested rotation — opener, first rotation only:

Basic 1, 2, 3, 4 > Skill (Overflowing Radiance) > Echo > Liberation > Basic 1, 2, 3, 4 > Forte Skill (Illuminous Epiphany) > Outro

Tested loop rotations, alternating each cycle:

Intro > Skill > Basic 1, 2, 3, 4 > Forte Skill > Outro

Intro > Skill > Echo > Basic 1, 2, 3, 4 > Liberation > Forte Skill > Outro

The same strings appear in both tested teams, so there is exactly one structure to learn. The first rotation is an opener: her gauge starts empty, so the first nuke lands weaker while Eras in Unity charges up, and her damage reaches its normal level from the second rotation onward.

Build Priorities

Her tested solo damage profile is Resonance Skill 68.12%, Resonance Liberation 24.47%, Echo 3.90%, and Intro 3.50%. Build her as a Skill damage dealer — this is also why every useful partner buffs Skill damage.

Sub-stat priority: Crit Rate > Crit DMG > ATK% > Resonance Skill DMG Bonus > Energy Regen.

Talent priority: Forte Circuit and Resonance Liberation to Lv. 10; Normal Attack, Resonance Skill, and Intro Skill to Lv. 6.

Her best weapon is Ages of Harvest, her signature Broadblade, and the page puts it at 100% as the comparison baseline. It grants Attribute DMG Bonus and up to 48% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus across its Intro and Skill triggers, aimed exactly at her profile. She is a main DPS, so the standing recommendation for anyone who plays her is the signature at R1; behind it sit Verdant Summit R1 at 89.58%, Lustrous Razor R1 at 85.40%, and Autumntrace R5 at 77.46% as the 4-star option.

Her Echo setup is 5-piece Celestial Light with Jué as the main Echo. The set's Intro-triggered 30% Spectro DMG matches her Intro-heavy rotation, and Jué's Blessing of Time adds 16% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus plus a Skill-typed Spectro proc. For main stats, use Crit DMG or Crit Rate on Cost 4. The page's comparison puts Spectro/ATK at 100%, ATK/ATK at 99.41%, and Spectro/Spectro at 97.65% on Cost 3. All three are within noise, so sub-stat quality decides.

Team Fit & Account Value

Her partners are chosen by one rule: who fills Incandescence fastest, and who buffs Resonance Skill damage. The tested answer is Zhezhi, with Buling or Shorekeeper in the third slot.

  • Zhezhi is her best sub-DPS and does both jobs. Her Liberation summons Inklit Spirits that perform Coordinated Attacks whenever the active Resonator deals damage, off-field Glacio hits that feed Jinhsi 2 Incandescence per trigger while Jinhsi plays her own rotation. Her Outro grants the incoming Resonator 20% Glacio DMG Amplification and 25% Resonance Skill DMG Amplification. The Glacio half is wasted on Jinhsi, but the Skill half covers 68% of her damage. She also deals real sub-DPS damage of her own, roughly a sixth of the tested team's output, on Moonlit Clouds.
  • Cantarella works the same way, with the same performance. Her Liberation's Dreamweavers are Coordinated Attacks, Havoc hits that feed the gauge identically, and the second half of her Outro is the same 25% Resonance Skill DMG Amplification; its 20% Havoc half is wasted here. Outside temporary mode buffs favoring one of them, treat the two as interchangeable for this slot.
  • Buling is the tested third-slot support and covers what Jinhsi needs most: Skill damage buffs and healing in one 4-star slot. Her enhanced Liberation creates the Five Thunders Spell Array, and its team states escalate as Intros are cast. Thunder Spell - Yin and Yang grants 10% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus, rising to 25% with Thunder Spell - Heaven, Earth, Mind, while her Outro adds a team-wide 15% DMG Amplification for 30 seconds plus healing. The tested team runs her at S6 on Rejuvenating Glow. One caveat from the tested team note: without a Crit Rate support, Jinhsi's average damage dips even though her crit highs look bigger, which is the argument for Shorekeeper in that slot instead.
  • Mortefi and Yuanwu are the classic budget feeders. Mortefi's Liberation adds Coordinated Fusion attacks and Yuanwu's totem adds Coordinated Electro attacks. Both fill the gauge, and that is their whole job for her: Mortefi's Outro is 38% Heavy Attack DMG Deepen, while Jinhsi deals essentially no Heavy Attack damage, and Yuanwu's Outro only depletes Vibration Strength. They function, but they are much weaker versions of the slot than Zhezhi or Cantarella. Verina and Baizhi remain listed sustain alternatives for the third slot.

Her honest limits: her Outro gives teammates nothing, her gauge starts every fight empty so her first rotation is an opener by design, and her best buffs ride her Intro because Celestial Light and Ages of Harvest both trigger from it. Partner-wise she is locked to coordinated attackers and Skill buffers, and even in her best tested structure, her teams sit at the bottom of the validated projection.

Sequence Value

Jinhsi is complete at S0: Incarnation, the nuke, Unison, and her Outro all function without sequences. The page's sequence damage chart is S0 100% → S1 113% → S2 113% → S3 140% → S4 149% → S5 188% → S6 227%.

  • S1 — Abyssal Ascension (5/5): Incarnation Basics and Crescent Divinity build Herald of Revival stacks, up to 4, and each stack adds 20% damage to Illuminous Epiphany, up to 80% more on her biggest hit. Her strongest node.
  • S2 — Chronofrost Repose (1/5): She restores 50 Incandescence after staying out of combat for 4 seconds. This is an overworld comfort node: it does nothing inside a fight, and the chart does not move from 113% to 113%.
  • S3 — Celestial Incarnate (3/5): After her Intro, she gains up to 2 stacks of 25% ATK for 20 seconds. Real damage at 140%, but generic.
  • S4 — Benevolent Grace (2/5): Her Liberation or Epiphany grants the team 20% Attribute DMG Bonus for 20 seconds. This is her only team buff, and a small one.
  • S5 — Frostfire Illumination (4/5): Liberation's multiplier increases by 120%, a solid bump on her second-largest share that takes the chart to 188%.
  • S6 — Thawing Triumph (5/5): Epiphany's multiplier and its Incandescence scaling both increase by 45%. This is the 227% ceiling, for dedicated Jinhsi mains.

Realistic stopping points: S0 covers everything she does. Owners who play her regularly can consider S1; there is no broader case for her sequences.

Pull Value

Pull Jinhsi if:

  • You love the character herself, her design, her story, and her mid-air dragon rotation, and you are pulling for that reason alone.
  • You are collecting, and completion matters more to you than power.

That is the whole list: there is no power-based reason to pull her right now.

Skip or delay Jinhsi if:

  • You want damage. Newer limited carries deliver more at S0 with less setup and fewer partner demands.
  • You are an F2P or low spender counting every pull. Her best structure wants Zhezhi or Cantarella, a third-slot support, and ideally her signature.
  • You already own Zhezhi or Cantarella and think Jinhsi is their missing carry. It works the other way: they are her missing pieces, and they serve newer teams better.
  • You are returning to the game and remember her as a top DPS. She was, back in Version 1.1. The game has moved on; check the live Team DPS section before spending anything on her.
