Iuno review

Review updated:

Iuno is a 5-Star Aero Gauntlets character who plays two real roles: a sub-DPS who buffs Heavy Attack carries, and a main DPS in her own team. Her kit is built around Lunar Cycle and its two states, Half Moon and New Moon, the Sentience gauge that empowers her New Moon attacks, and Heavy Attack - Absolute Fullness, which creates the Full Moon Domain, a healing zone that can stack Blessing of the Wan Light damage amplification on whoever fights inside it.

Her output depends on the role. As a sub-DPS she still deals a tested 28%–42% of her team's damage depending on the composition, far more than a pure support, while handing the next character a 50% Heavy Attack DMG Amplification Outro. As a main DPS she carries 75%–90% of her team's damage in tested data. She is a damage dealer who also buffs and heals, not a buffer who happens to deal token damage.

The live Team DPS section is the authority for Iuno's current tested compositions, ordering, DPS values, and rotations. It updates from the validated Team DPS projection instead of freezing those values in this review.

Quick Verdict

Pull Iuno if you own or plan to own Augusta, the one carry who uses everything Iuno offers, or if you like Iuno enough to play her as a main DPS, because she genuinely can. She is also the strongest tested option for the Heavy Attack support slot in general, clearly ahead of Mortefi in the same tested teams.

Iuno is not team-dependent in the usual sense: she fits any Heavy Attack damage dealer and can headline her own team. What limits her is damage type. A carry whose damage is not Heavy Attack DMG gets nothing from her Outro, and only self-shielding carries, in practice Augusta, can stack the domain's amplification.

At S0, Iuno is already complete: both roles, her full buff package, and her full rotation work immediately. S2 is the first realistic stopping point, where the sequence chart jumps to 148%, and S6 is the whale ceiling at 280%, aimed at main-DPS Iuno.

Best teams8/10 — her top tested teams sit high in the projection, one step below the very top structures
General teams8/10 — fits every Heavy Attack carry and can main DPS, but does little for other damage types
F2P valueGood at S0 — Mortefi covers a cheaper version of her buffing role
Whale valueHigh at S2 and S6, especially when she is played as a main DPS

How Iuno Works

The two states. Iuno enters Lunar Cycle by casting Closing Refrain, the Resonance Skill that replaces her normal Skill after her Intro, a Moonring Basic 3, or a dash Skill, or by casting Resonance Liberation directly. Lunar Cycle has two states:

  • Half Moon is the default. She attacks with the Moonring, and her hits restore Sentience. In practice, she passes through this state and leaves it immediately.
  • New Moon is the damage state. She attacks with the Moonbow, and her Moonbow Basic Attacks, Arc Beyond the Edge Skills, and Moonbow Dodge Counters are all considered Resonance Liberation DMG. Roughly 88% of her solo damage is Liberation damage.

While in Lunar Cycle, Jump becomes Heavy Attack - Flux: casting it switches between the two states, with Flux: Moonbow entering New Moon and Flux: Moonring returning to Half Moon. Everything can be cast in mid-air. Holding Jump, using Utilities, or environmental interactions ends Lunar Cycle, while STA does not recover in mid-air and her Meandering movement drains it continuously.

Sentience. This Forte gauge caps at 100 points. She gains it from:

  • Intro Skill: 40 points
  • Resonance Liberation: 60 points
  • Closing Refrain / Unfinished Refrain: 25 points
  • Moonring attacks: on hit during Lunar Cycle

She spends Sentience in New Moon: a full Moonbow Basic chain consumes up to 50 points, and each Arc Beyond the Edge charge, of which she has 2, consumes up to 25. Spending Sentience raises the attack multiplier, restores extra Concerto Energy, and heals nearby teammates. An attack is empowered while any Sentience remains; a cast with 5 points still receives the effect, but consumes less. Her Intro plus Liberation refill the complete bar, 40 + 60, which is why her sub-DPS rotation never needs Moonring attacks.

Absolute Fullness and the Full Moon Domain. When Concerto Energy is full, Heavy Attack becomes Absolute Fullness, usable once every 25 seconds. It ends Lunar Cycle, heals the team, deals a Liberation-type hit, and creates the Full Moon Domain. The domain periodically restores HP and STA, and grants 1 stack of Blessing of the Wan Light whenever a Resonator inside gains a Shield, once every 0.5 seconds.

Blessing of the Wan Light gives the holder 4% all DMG Amplification per stack for 10 seconds, up to 10 stacks (40%). New stacks refresh the duration, and the effect ends early when the holder swaps off the field.

The stack counter is per shield gain, not per character. One shield gained inside the domain gives exactly 1 stack, only 4%, so the buff reaches its 40% ceiling only for someone who repeatedly gains shields. Iuno stacks it easily: Inherent Skill II, Derivation, gives her 5 stacks on Intro and 5 on Liberation, while Inherent Skill I, Waxing Ascent, grants a shield worth 32% of ATK on nearly every action and keeps feeding stacks inside her own domain.

Waxing Ascent does not pass its shield to the next character. A teammate can stack Blessing only by shielding themselves repeatedly inside the domain. Among tested partners, Augusta is the only one who does this: her Inherent Skill gives a new shield every 0.5 seconds when she deals damage, matching the domain trigger and capping all 10 stacks in about 5 seconds. Jiyan, Qiuyuan, Zani, and Galbrena gain no shields of their own, so the domain gives them healing and stamina, not amplification.

Outro, From Gloom to Gleam. It deals a small hit and gives the incoming Resonator 50% Heavy Attack DMG Amplification for 14 seconds. It reaches one character, whoever swaps in directly after Iuno, and ends early when that character leaves the field. Casting Outro during Absolute Fullness does not interrupt the slam, and the buff still applies, which is how her rotation ends.

Standard sub-DPS rotation — about 8.2 seconds of field time:

Intro > Echo > Skill (cancel the animation with Liberation if Energy Regen is high enough) > Liberation > Jump > Skill 1 > Basic 1, 2, 3 > Skill 2 > Heavy > Outro

This exact string appears in every tested team: Augusta, Jiyan, Qiuyuan, Zani, and Galbrena all use the same Iuno rotation.

Energy variant — about 9.7 seconds: when Energy Regen is insufficient, the second rotation onward uses the Intro with the Skill allowed to finish for Energy rather than canceled, while the rest stays unchanged. The tested breakpoint is 130% Energy Regen. At 130% she can cancel Skill with Liberation every rotation in most teams; below it she must let Skill finish, costing about 1.5 seconds. The Jiyan and Shorekeeper note pushes the requirement to 140% because the second rotation is tighter. Build 130% first and increase it only if rotation 2 Liberation is late.

Main-DPS route with Lynae and Shorekeeper — about 11.9–13.3 seconds:

Intro > Echo > Skill > Jump > Basic 1, 2, 3 > Skill > Liberation > Basic 1, 2, 3 > Skill > Basic 1, 2 > Heavy > Outro

Main-DPS route with Lynae and Mornye:

Intro > Echo > Skill > Jump (cancel with Tune Break) > Tune Break > Basic 1, 2, 3 > Skill > Liberation > Basic 1, 2, 3 > Skill > Basic 1, 2 > Heavy > Outro

The Mornye variant is faster because Tune Break cancels Flux, so it depends on the boss's Off-Tune window. Use the first route when the target cannot be Tune Broken at that moment. Both routes spend Sentience across two Moonbow chains and three empowered Skills instead of one chain, making partial-Sentience empowerment valuable.

Moonbow Basic 3 is a long two-part hit and a useful swap-cancel window, while Arc Beyond the Edge can cancel into Liberation. Iuno has many swap windows, but her tested rotations use her as a normal on-field sub-DPS. Treat those windows as a strength, not her identity.

Build Priorities

Build her as a Liberation damage dealer, not a Basic Attack character.

Solo damage profile:

  • Liberation: 88.14%
  • Skill: 5.71%
  • Echo: 4.03%
  • Intro: 2.13%

Sub-stat priority: Crit Rate > Crit DMG > ATK% > Liberation DMG Bonus > Energy Regen.

Echo setup: 3-piece Crown of Valor + 2-piece Windward Pilgrimage, with Lady of the Sea as the main Echo. Lady of the Sea gives the main slot 12% Aero DMG and 12% Liberation DMG. Crown of Valor stacks ATK and Crit DMG whenever she gains a shield; Waxing Ascent shields her on nearly every action, so she maintains maximum stacks. This is also why Augusta uses the same set.

The page's comparison on Iuno's own buff profile reads Aero/Aero Cost 3 at 100%, Aero/ATK at 97.51%, and ATK/ATK at 92.30%. A full 5-piece Windward Pilgrimage reaches 90.47%, but only in the row calculated with Ciaccona, because the 5-piece effect requires hitting a target affected by Aero Erosion, which Iuno cannot apply. Without an Erosion applier, stay on Crown of Valor. Moonlit Clouds at 69.27% sacrifices nearly a third of her damage for team buffing; her personal damage is the reason to use her over Mortefi, so that trade is difficult to justify.

Weapon comparison. The page lists Moongazer's Sigil R1 at 100%, Verity's Handle R1 at 90.47%, Blazing Justice R1 at 80.32%, Tragicomedy R1 at 77.34%, Aether Strike R5 at 74.91%, Stonard R5 at 72.85%, and Abyss Surges R1 at 72.06%. Moongazer's Sigil is designed around her: its DEF-ignore stacks trigger when she gains shields, which happens constantly, and her Intro immediately maxes them.

The advice splits by role. For main-DPS Iuno, get Moongazer's Sigil because no alternative comes close. For sub-DPS Iuno, the signature can be skipped: Verity's Handle R1 at 90.47% preserves nearly all her output, and because she contributes roughly a third of the team's damage in that role, the team-level loss is small. Everything below Verity's Handle is budget filler.

Team Fit & Account Value

The tested data has no single runaway best Iuno team. Her two strongest structures are essentially level and show her two roles:

  • Iuno main DPS with Lynae and Mornye. Lynae's Outro gives Iuno 15% all DMG Amplification plus 25% Liberation DMG Amplification, aimed directly at Iuno's 88% Liberation profile, while Mornye's Outro gives the team 25% all DMG Amplification for 30 seconds. This is Iuno's strongest tested carry team. The budget version with Jianxin and Shorekeeper falls far behind, so Lynae is close to mandatory for this role.
  • Augusta main DPS with Iuno and Lynae, or Shorekeeper. This is Iuno's best sub-DPS home and Augusta's best tested structure. Augusta deals 82.53% Heavy Attack damage, so the full Outro lands. Her repeated self-shields also cap all 10 Blessing stacks inside the domain within about 5 seconds, adding another 40% amplification that no other tested partner reaches. The tested note states the difference directly: Augusta fully benefits from Iuno's buffs; Galbrena does not.

Use the live Team DPS section for current compositions, ordering, DPS values, equipment, and rotations. It is the only source for those mutable results.

Everywhere else, Iuno is an upgrade over the alternative for her slot rather than the team's centerpiece. Against Mortefi, the free Heavy Attack buffer, every tested pairing using Iuno beats the Mortefi version of the same core, decisively for Augusta and more modestly for Jiyan. Iuno wins through personal damage, roughly a third of team output against Mortefi's much smaller share, while adding healing, stamina restoration, and the domain.

  • Jiyan, at 80.96% Heavy Attack damage, and Qiuyuan, at 62.18%, use her Outro well but cannot stack Blessing without self-shields. They receive the Outro and healing, not the domain amplification.
  • Zani and Galbrena are partial fits. Zani's Heavy Attack share is split with other damage types, Galbrena's is only about a third of her output, and neither self-shields. Both have stronger tested partners, and their Iuno teams sit below their best structures.

Her honest limits: carries whose damage is not Heavy Attack DMG receive nothing from the Outro; carries who cannot self-shield receive nothing from the domain amplification; and both the Outro and Blessing end when the holder swaps off the field, making her a poor fit for quick-swap-heavy styles that rotate the carry mid-buff. No sequence widens this. Even at S6, the full 10-stack Blessing buff still belongs to repeated self-shielders, which currently means Augusta alone. Iuno is a Heavy Attack specialist who can also carry, not a universal support.

Sequence Value

Iuno is complete at S0: both roles, the full Outro, the domain, and her rotation all work without sequences. The page's sequence damage chart is S0 100% → S1 115% → S2 148% → S3 176% → S4 176% → S5 188% → S6 280%.

  • S1 — Wax or Wane, All Gild the Bough (4/5): 40% ATK during Lunar Cycle, 1 Resonance Energy per second inside Full Moon Domain, and interruption immunity for Arc Beyond the Edge and Absolute Fullness. It mixes damage, comfort that eases the 130% Energy Regen requirement, and protection for her two most important casts.
  • S2 — Day or Night, Let This Be Eternal (5/5): Any teammate, including Iuno, holding 10 Blessing stacks gains an additional 40% all DMG Amplification, for 80% total at the cap. Iuno reaches 10 stacks from Intro plus Liberation, explaining the chart's jump to 148%. Augusta reaches them by self-shielding, making this a team-damage node in Iuno's best sub-DPS team. Every other tested partner receives nothing from this second half because they never hold 10 stacks; S2 rewards the requirement without relaxing it.
  • S3 — I Drink Deep of Their Forgetting (4/5): 65% Amplification for Moonbow Basics, Arc Beyond the Edge, and Moonbow Dodge Counters, while Arc no longer resets the Moonbow Basic chain. This is a personal-damage node, reaching 176%, and matters most for main-DPS Iuno.
  • S4 — Rainy Season Dwell in My Eyes (2/5): Absolute Fullness grants the whole team a shield worth 160% of Iuno's ATK for 30 seconds. This is sustain and comfort only, and the chart remains at 176%. It does not solve the Blessing condition: this is one shield gain, worth one 4% stack, not a route to 10.
  • S5 — A Thousand Futile Glimpses (2/5): 20% Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus. This is direct personal damage, reaching 188%, aimed at her 88% Liberation profile.
  • S6 — I Am the Constant in the Chaos (5/5): The whale ceiling at 280%. Absolute Fullness gains a 1600% multiplier, then re-enters New Moon with 100 Sentience and both Arc charges reset, turning the finisher into a second empowered phase. This is a main-DPS node; sub-DPS Iuno leaves immediately after Absolute Fullness and barely uses it.

Realistic stopping points: S0 for most players, S2 when Iuno is a favorite or anchors an Augusta team, and S6 only for whales building her as a main DPS.

Pull Value

Pull Iuno if:

  • You own Augusta or plan to pull her. Iuno is her best tested partner, and Augusta is the only carry who uses both the Outro and the domain amplification.
  • You want a sub-DPS who contributes real tested damage, roughly a third to two-fifths of team output, instead of a pure buffer.
  • You like Iuno herself. Her main-DPS team with Lynae and Mornye is tested and strong.
  • You want one easy rotation: her sub-DPS string is identical in every tested team.
  • You value extra sustain, with healing on empowered hits plus a healing and stamina domain, layered on a damage role.

Skip or delay Iuno if:

  • Your carries are not Heavy Attack damage dealers, making her 50% Outro amplification irrelevant.
  • You already use Mortefi in the Heavy Attack support slot and prefer widening your account over upgrading a working slot. He covers the cheaper version of her role; her advantage is damage rather than a new function.
  • Your Heavy Attack carries already have their best partners and you do not own Augusta. Jiyan and Qiuyuan gain less from Iuno than Augusta does.
  • You need a dedicated sustain or a Negative Status enabler for a specific team. Iuno heals, but that is a bonus on a damage kit rather than a substitute for the specialist your team needs.
