Jiyan’s best build revolves around Verdant Summit (his signature weapon), fully unlocked talents, and high-value Echo stats. This setup is extremely difficult to achieve, but it represents the standard for his peak potential. Going beyond this would require near-perfect Echo rolls, which very few players will ever get.
The example build assumes 5 Echoes rolled with:
– Crit Rate 8.1%
– Crit DMG 16.2%
– ATK 8.6%
– Heavy Attack DMG Bonus 8.6%
When looking at the percentages shown in the charts above for sets, weapons, Echoes, and teams, keep in mind that a drop in Jiyan’s personal damage does not mean the team itself is weaker. With Ciaccona in the lineup, the team remains extremely strong, since she contributes meaningful damage in her rotation. There are optimal rotations that can push this team’s overall performance very high. The charts reflect Jiyan’s personal damage only, not the total team output.
If you choose to use Cartethyia’s set, Windward Pilgrimage, you must include Ciaccona. Jiyan cannot trigger the set’s passive on his own, since he has no way to apply Aero Erosion. This set should never be paired with Mortefi, because without Ciaccona it will not activate at all.
Jiyan is also an energy-hungry character. If you are using the Nightmare Feilian Beringal Cost-4 Echo, he needs at least 130 Energy, sometimes more. In fact, this Echo can feel like a nerf to him: it may drop the wooden stick mid-fight and block attacks, and it provides less Energy than the normal Feilian Beringal. You can still use the Nightmare version, but be ready to compensate with extra Energy.
Other Cost-4 options are viable too. Kelpie works well with Windward Pilgrimage, granting 12% Aero DMG, while Reminiscence Fleurdelys gives 10% Aero DMG. The difference between them is only 2%, so either one is fine.
Set Comment:
Eternal Radiance is Jiyan’s best set. It gives 20% Crit Rate, which makes stat balancing much easier, and it also provides Spectro DMG, which he wants.
Regarding weapons and Cost-3 attributes, Blazing Justice and most other options provide ATK. Verity’s Handle is the one that provides Attribute DMG. In all cases, two Spectro Cost-3 Echoes is the strongest setup in a vacuum. However, if you already have one Spectro and one ATK on the Cost-3s, the damage difference is not large, so it is not worth rebuilding to force two Spectro. If both Cost-3s are ATK, then you should replace at least one with Spectro.
Stat Commentary:
A 75% Crit Rate is very important for Jiyan. Running him with low Crit Rate is too punishing. While he can still clear easier content, in high-end encounters he will underperform badly if Crit Rate is lacking.
His Crit DMG sits around 290%, though even 285% is strong. For Heavy Attack DMG, the optimal value of 43% comes naturally if you have 8.6% Heavy Attack DMG on five Echoes. You do not need to chase it aggressively, but if you roll it, it is a welcome bonus.
